The Return of Jo Hyun Jae

I'm incredibly relieved that Jo Hyun Jae has safely returned from the military after 2 years of serving (feels like 20 yrs of painful waiting).  Besides Lee Min Ho, my other half is Jo Hyun Jae, who impossibly stole my heart in Only You,  3 Dads & 1 Mommy, and Ballad of Suh Dong (my fave k-dramas).  I'm eggcited to see his future projects.

What I'm Watching: "Playful Kiss"

Although the first 4 episodes were dreadfully disappointing in terms of  fan's  expectations, episodes 5+ are getting mischievously cute.  The playful romance of Oh Ha Ni and  Baek Seung Jo melts my heart.  I’m half way done & can’t wait to catch new episodes next week.

How to Lose a Pound in 10 Days or LESS

****Disclaimer: Individual results may vary
Although some people are apprehensive of weight gain during bikini seasons, I’m more petrified of packing a few extra pounds during fall and winter.  We naturally acquire some extra body fat as heat insulation for survival purposes during cold seasons.  I’m envious of taller individuals because a few extra pounds on them tend to distribute evenly throughout their bodies.  However, weight gain in petites can easily create love handles.  Here are 4 tangible tips on handling the unloving love handles.  They work for me & hopefully they'll work for you as well.

1. Break up with simple carbs (ex: white rice/flour bread).  Instead, embrace a committed relationship with complex carbs (ex: brown rice/whole wheat bread) because they contain a higher amount of fiber, which keeps you full and prevents you from pigging out.
-Look for “100% whole wheat” label on bread.
- “Multi-grain” label on bread doesn’t mean that it’s whole grain.   It’s made out of variety of grains in which some may be whole grains, some are not.
-Don’t forget that fruits and veggies are complex carbs!

2. Stay free of fast foods.  While fast food franchises rapidly flood every corner of our streets, our bodies inversely suffer from droughts of nutritional adequacy from happy sloppy meals.  Don’t become an active citizen of fast food nation because a moment on the lips, a few weeks on the hips.  Excessive consumption of unhealthy fats is like drowning in financial debt.  On the contrary, eating healthy foods is like spending wisely.  Reduction of fast food consumption can slim down your waistline and save $$$ for cute clothes.

3. Drink daily dose of water. I don't advocate sugar-loaded energy drinks and worthless diet pills because they're mostly scams and a waste of money.  When taking diet pills, you drink lots of water, which makes you full so you don't overeat.  It's the consumption of water that's helping you lose weight, not necessarily diet pills.  Thus, water is the best diet drink--FREE of cost and sugar!

4. Exercise at least an hour  a day.  If you haven’t hit the gym sometimes this century, it’s still not too late.  When you’re at the gym, resist the temptation of exercising next to the person who is in worse shape than you.  Even though you secretly feel good that you’re in better physique than that individual, someone else exercising next to you can have feelings of superiority towards you.  Instead, fearlessly  exercise next to the person who's working out harder than you for motivation.  If you don't have gym memberships, I recommend parking your car far away from the stores so you'll walk longer distances.

The short and simple secret to dieting is consistent integration  of healthy eating habits and physical activity.  Good luck!
